Daycare workers were arrested for allegedly forcing toddlers to fight under their care.
The incident was captured on video. However, police did not release the video to parents and the media because it will be used as evidence in the investigation.
Daycare workers Tania Harris, 19, Lisa Parker, 47, and Estefania Myers, 21, work at Hands of Our Future daycare in Dover. They have been arrested after a cellphone video was posted on the internet that shows the workers encouraging two 3-year-old kids to fight.
According to police, one of the children in the video yelled, “He’s pinching me!” One of the daycare workers responded, “No pinching, only punching.”
Dover Police Capt. Tim Stump told FoxNews.com that the video was “difficult to watch.”
“One of the kids involved ran over to one of the adults for protection, but she turned him around back into the fight.”
The video shows two of the suspects encouraging the fight between the children as the third suspect used her cellphone to film the fight, according to reports.
Although neither one of the kids involved suffered any injuries, the video clearly shows that they were hurting each other.
Parents of children who go to the daycare center have been informed of the video.
One parent called the alleged fight club as “very disturbing.”
An investigation is currently being done. Authorities are uncertain if there were more of these fights that occurred at the daycare under the suspects’ care.
The suspects were charged with assault, endangering the welfare of a child, reckless endangering and conspiracy.
Stump said the suspects were cooperative and have posted $10,000 bond.
