‘Rape Is Intended By God’: Richard Mourdock

Indiana GOP U.S. Senate candidate Richard Mourdock says pregnancy from rape is something “God intended.”

During a Senate race debate, a questioner asked the candidates about their views on abortion.

All three candidates said they were anti-abortion. However, Mourdock went on to say:

“The only exception I have to have an abortion is in the case of the life of the mother. I struggled with it myself for a long time, but I came to realize life is that gift from God. I think that even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that is something that God intended to happen.”

Mourdock has undoubtedly put himself in the same situation as Missouri Rep. Todd Akin did a few months ago with his “legitimate rape” comments.

Presidential candidate Mitt Romney who previously endorsed Mourdock created an ad campaign on his behalf Tuesday.

“Gov. Romney disagrees with Richard Mourdock’s comments, and they do not reflect his views.”

After the debate, Mourdock tried to clear up the misunderstanding about his comments.

“God creates life, and that was my point,” Mourdock said in a statement. “God does not want rape, and by no means was I suggesting that He does. Rape is a horrible thing, and for anyone to twist my words otherwise is absurd and sick.”

What do you think? Did we misinterpret what Mourdock said during the debate?

I watched this debate. They were asked what their personal beliefs were, not what the party platform was. All three claim to be pro-life.

You have to make up your mind. What men think about abortions is irrelevant, but men have to pay for child support. Hmmm..

I can understand, what he wanna say!

There is something seriously wrong with Mourdock’s god. Instead of giving the gift of safety to women so that they are not raped, he prefers to allow them to be raped and then give them the gift of their rapists’ baby.

Where did he get this idea from?
