Mao Sugiyama, 22, cooked and served his own genitals to five diners at a banquet in Japan.
Sugiyama considers himself “asexual” meaning someone who is non-sexual. He looks at it as a way to show that he does not see himself as either gender.
On April 8, Sugiyama tweeted:
“[Please retweet] I am offering my male genitals (full penis, testes, scrotum) as a meal for 100,000 yen …Will prepare and cook as the buyer requests, at his chosen location.”
After his 22nd birthday, Sugiyama went under genital-removal surgery. He then used it for the “special dinner.”
The banquet was held on April 13.
Six diners signed up for the $250a-plate dinner. However, the sixth person did not show up. The severed penis shaft, testicles, and scrotal skin were divided between five people. It was garnished with button mushrooms and Italian parsley.
Images of the banquet showed that there were dozens of other people. They were there to get a glimpse of the much talked about rare treat.
Other banquet attendees dined on crocodile-based dishes.
Although there were complaints about the banquet, Japanese authorities said the banquet is legal. There is no law against cannibalism in Japan.
