Mom Drives With Her Baby On Top Of Car

A mother leaves her 5-week-old baby on top of the car as she drove off.

Catalina Clouser, 19, was arrested and charged with aggravated driving under the influence and child abuse. Police believe she was smoking marijuana.

The woman drove off while the baby was on top of the car. The mother did not even notice that the seat fell off the car and was left in the middle of an intersection.

Leilani Gerlach lived across from the intersection. She and another neighbor called police after she saw the baby in the car seat on the street.

“We were both rolling our eyes in astonishment that someone could forget their baby,” Gerlach said. “The car seat was turned to the side so anyone passing by wouldn’t be able to tell there was an actual baby inside. Thank god they stopped.”

As police officers interviewed Clouser’s friends in the neighborhood, she pulled up.

According to police, Clouser, her boyfriend and friends were smoking marijuana earlier in the evening. Her boyfriend was arrested on suspicion of aggravated DUI while getting beer at a store with the baby in the car.

Clouser was upset about the arrest that she went to a friends home and smoked marijuana again.

She left with the baby at midnight, putting the baby on the roof of the car and drove off.

Police said that there was damage to the car seat, but the baby was unharmed.

The baby is now with Child Protective Services.
