Wild Spring Break week in South Padre, Texas.
Around 60,000 college students arrived on South Padre Island, Texas for their annual Spring Break.
For days students gathered at the notorious Coca-Cola beach for non-stop drinking and partying.
The Travel Channel has called the event “the biggest beach party on the planet.”
The town of South Padre Island knows it all too well. During the week, they setup 32-bed mobile hospitals to deal with students who passed out from drinking, drugs, or just too much partying.
In one day, 60 people needed medical attention.
Code Magazine has called South Padre the second most trashy Spring Break destination. Las Vegas is the first.
The alcohol, the drugs and the heavy partying could be seen just by looking at the t-shirts being sold in the stores.
One shirt read: “Alcohol and Molly (another word for ecstasy) and party and sluts”
While another reads: “Don’t tell your madre what happened in Padre.”
The most disturbing of all is the attitude of the authorities. They seem to be more lenient during this wild parties as Spring Break breaks in huge amounts of money to their economy.
Corporate sponsorships could be seen everywhere on the beach. Coca-Cola signs were on stage while Vitaminwater sunglasses were handed out.
The National Guard also sponsored a basketball where 3 on 3 games were held. Bic, the Razor company, sponsored a stage where partygoers can get a free shave.
Not only is alcohol and drugs abundant during Spring Break at South Padre, sex was on everyone’s minds.
One college student said: “I met this girl at the music festival that’s going on in town. She was rolling (on ecstasy). I left and was back at my hotel and texted to ask if she wanted to stop off at my hotel as it was on the way back to hers.
‘She texted back: ‘OK, let’s f***.'”
“She came over and we had sex and I fell asleep. She said she wanted to stay but I told her no as she didn’t have a wristband for the hotel. I had snuck her in the back otherwise it would have cost $30 for a night pass which I didn’t want to pay, so she left.”
So, what did you kids do for Spring Break?
