Woman Kills Fiancee Over Cheap Mother’s Day Gift

A 20-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly stabbing her fiance for giving her a cheap mother’s day gift.

Paige Parkerson is charged with first-degree felony murder in the stabbing death of her fiance, 22-year-old Clifton “JR” Barkin. They have two children together.

Evetta Wright, Barkin’s mother told the Beaumont Enterprise that she received a call from Parkerson Monday morning telling her that her son was dead.

Ms. Wright said that she and Barkin drove to Walmart to purchase a Mother’s Day card and flowers for Parkerson. She dropped him off around 11:30pm at the home he shared with Parkerson Sunday night. She believes that Parkerson attacked him because she wanted a more extravagant gift.

According to the Houston Chronicle report, Parkerson lists her favorite quote on Facebook as, “If looks could kill I would be da murder of all my haters.”

She is held on a $75,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail.
