A middle school teacher in Oxnard, California was fired after they learned of her porn star past.

Stacie Halas, 32, had a nine-month career in pornography before working at the school.

The Commission of Professional Competence ruled that Halas should not be in the classroom.

“We were hoping we could show you could overcome your past,” Richard Schwarb, Halas’ lawyer, said Tuesday.

“I think she’s representative of a lot of people who may have a a past that may not involve anything illegal or anything that hurts anybody.”

One of the judges, Judge Julie Cabos-Owen, said that with technology in this age porn is easily accessed and it would be difficult to bury the past.

“Although her pornography career has concluded, the ongoing availability of her pornographic materials on the Internet will continue to impede her from being an effective teacher and respected colleague,” Cabos-Owen said in a decision issued on Friday.

Halas was fired from her job when students at Haydock Intermediate School in Oxnard discovered online videos of her in porn.

According to Schwab, Halas engaged in pornographic movies between 2005 to 2006, but was not involved in it while teaching in any district.

Jeff Chancer, district superintendent of the school board, was pleased with the commission’s ruling.

He said that engaging “in pornography was incompatible with her responsibilities as a role model for students.”

What do you think of this ruling? Should she have been given a second chance?
