The Greece, New York bus monitor who took horrible verbal bullying from kids on a school bus gets $450,000.
The 10-minute video that went viral this week and caused outrage on the internet led to a campaign on Indiegogo.com. Its purpose was to give Karen Klein a dream vacation.
Donations poured into the campaign around the world. The amount is now at around $450,000, according to Huffington Post.
Anderson Cooper read two statements issued to the show by the police.
Wesley, one of the boys in the video said in the statement:
“I feel really bad about what I did. I wish I had never done those things. If that had happened to someone in my family, like my mother or grandmother, I would be really mad at the people who did that to them.”
Josh, who was also one of the boys in the video, said:
Even after the horrible verbal bullying she received, Klein doesn’t think the kids were bad kids.
When asked if she thought they were bad kids, she replied, “Not really, not deep down.”
Good news is, she’s not only getting a dream vacation, she’ll probably have enough money for retirement!
