Zuckerberg holds roughly 534 million shares of Facebook and holds more than a quarter of the company. Once Facebook shares are traded later this year the current value is at $29.73 per share.
Zuckerberg’s worth is enough to put him in the list of 50 richest people on the planet. If Facebook keeps it’s higher valuation, the CEO and founder may be worth $24 billion or more by the time it goes public. That’ll land him in Forbes’ top-10 list.
Although Zuckerberg’s wealth is mostly on paper, he has taken home six figures plus bonuses. Last year, he made $483,000 and received a $220,500 bonus in addition to other perks like private jet travel.
This is great news for the young genius. However, as we look back at history the dot-com boom-and-bust demonstrated wealth on paper can easily disappear in a blink of an eye.
