Baby born in the elevator

Isn’t it ironic?

A young woman in labor gave birth to her first baby in a hospital elevator.

Luke and Katy Thacker rushed to St Joseph’s Medical center braving ice and snow and actually made it to the hospital. Once there, Katy, her nurses and her midwife got stuck in the elevator. When the elevator doors opened, her husband was surprised to see their baby was already born.

It took two hours to get the elevator doors opened, but the elevator was still stuck between floors. Luke Thacker slipped inside the elevator and cut the umbilical cord as per his wife’s request.

The couple named their baby Blake, but at the moment he’s earned the nickname Black The Snow Flake Otis Thacker. Otis is a name of an elevator company.
