Beyonce performed at the Super Bowl XLVII half-time show in New Orleans.
The “Bootylicious” singer wowed the crowd with her performance and was reunited with her group, Destiny’s Child.
After last week’s lip-syncing controversy when Beyonce “sang” the US national anthem at President Obama’s inauguration, critics were sure to keep a close eye on Beyonce’s Super Bowl show.
But in the end, Beyonce “silenced her doubters”, according to the NY Times.
Dressed in a black leather mini dress, the singer performed several of her hits accompanied by explosions and pyrotechnics. Then her Destiny’s Child band mates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, joined her to sing renditions of ‘Bootylicious’, ‘Independent Women Part I’ and ‘Single Ladies’.
The Washington Post calls it “the sexiest Super Bowl half-time since 2004′ when Janet Jackson had the infamous “wardrobe malfunction”.
Jerry Shriver from USA Today called the show a “dynamic half-time performance that apparently sucked all of the power out of the Superdome” which literally did happen just as the game resumed.
What do you think of Beyonce’s Super Bowl half-time show? Was it the best half-time show?
