One student wrote a very honest cover letter and caught the attention of the company he was applying to.
An undergraduate finance student wrote a unusually written cover letter asking for a job at a boutique investment bank.
Instead of exaggerating his credentials or highlighting his achievements, the student decided that honesty would be the best policy. To everyone’s surprise, his honesty caught the eye of the company.
His letter was such a hit that his letter was shared to other bankers.
The letter was later leaked to Business Insider. In it, the student explains that he has no “unbelievably special skills or genius eccentricities,” but says he would do anything for an internship including “shining shoes or picking up laundry.”
What do you think of the letter? Would you hire someone who writes an honest cover letter?
