A teaser for the remake of the classic horror film Carrie has been released.
The film stars Chloe Moretz as the super-angry, telekinetic teen Carrie White.
The original 1976 film was directed by Brian de Palma and was based on the novel of Stephen King. The film was nominated for two Academy Awards for the film’s stars Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie.
Spacek played Carrie and Laurie was her mentally unstable mother. Julianne Moore plays Carrie’s mother in the new film.
Chloe Moretz said the new film will shock viewers even more.
“The script is totally different from the [original]. It’s more like the book. It’s a more Black Swan version – it messes with your mind. You’ll see things, and you don’t know if you’ve seen them.”
The teaser features blood-drenched Carrie looking at the devastation she created at her high school prom.
Kimberly Peirce directs. The film is set to release in the U.S. on March 15.
