Lindsay Lohan disapproved of Jennifer Lawrence’s speech during the Golden Globes.
The speech Lohan was referring to was Jennifer Lawrence’s acceptance speech that started off with “I beat Meryl.”
The quote came from Bette Midler’s character in the 1996 comedy “The First Wives Club.”
But Lohan didn’t get the joke and quickly took to Twitter after the speech saying:
“No1 should ever mess with a legend, such as Meryl Streep.”
Lawrence, 22, laughed off the controversy when she appeared on the The Late Show With David Letterman.
“I had no idea Lindsay Lohan would take to the Twitterverse (to complain)… Twitter is very upset.”
Lawrence told Letterman that she wasn’t trying to insult Meryl Streep. The actress says she has much respect for Streep and insulting her was the last thing on her mind.
