US College basketball player suffers horrific leg injury.
Kevin Ware, a guard with the Louisville Cardinals, broke his leg in two places after landing awkwardly during a game against Duke University yesterday.
While Ware writhed in pain, he called on his teammates to “win the game, win the game.”
As Ware laid on the floor in pain, officials covered his leg that had a six-inch bone sticking out.
Coach Rick Pitino said, “I’ve not seen that in my life.”
The injury has been called the worst injury in sports ever and brought Ware’s teammates to tears.
Chane Behanan, Ware’s best friend on the team, collapsed to his knees after witnessing the incident.
He said: “The bone was literally out. I saw white, it was literally out. I’ve never seen anything like that. I don’t remember the last time I cried.”
Due to the graphic nature of the injury, CBS had to stop showing replays of the fall.
Ware was taken to the hospital where he had successfully surgery on his leg. The team also went on to win the match 85-63.
Coach Pitino said, “We won this for him.”
