Live explosive drill using the “Hot Potato” technique

A video where six Chinese soldiers passing live explosive around had been circulating on the web.

The video was featured on the Chinese Central Television (CCTV). It appears the soldiers were playing “hot potato” with the lit explosive. The last soldier drops it in a hole and all six men jump away from it as it exploded.

A reporter in the video stated that the troops were practicing “explosive package passing.”

“A lit explosive package is sequentially passed among six soldiers, to test their ability for close coordination and psychological preparation,” the reporter adds.

Many say that the explosive being passed around was fake and that the video was staged. One viewer suggested that the explosive was
too far from where the actual explosion was which led viewers to criticize the authenticity of the explosive and the video itself.

What do you think? See for yourself, is it real or fake?
