A nurse who worked at the hospital where Kate Middleton was admitted was duped into transferring a prank call from two radio DJs was found dead.
Jacintha Saldanha was found unconscious in a suspected suicide.
Saldanha left behind a husband and two children.
The nurse received a call from Australian radio DJs Mel Greig and Michael Christian who impersonated the Queen and Prince Charles. Saldanha believed that they were members of the Royal Faily, so she put them through another nurse who described Kate’s condition in detail.
She was found dead at 9:35 AM this morning at an address close to King Edward VII Hospital.
The hospital issued a statement saying:
“We can confirm the tragic death of a member of our nursing staff, Jacintha Saldanha.”
“Jacintha has worked at the King Edward Vii hospital for more than four years. She was an excellent nurse and a well-respected and popular member of staff with all her colleagues.”
“We can confirm that Jacintha was recently the victim of a hoax call to the hospital. The hospital has been supporting her at this difficult time.”
