Teacher fired after Taping Student to a chair

Friendship Public Charter School in Washington D.C. fired a teacher who allegedly taped a vision-impaired student to his chair.

According to Fox News, 9-year-old Christian Washington said, “She was laughing. Everybody in the class was laughing at me.”

His mother, Terik Washington was outraged by the teacher’s actions.

“His rights were violated. It’s against the law,” Washington told WUSA. “It should never, never, ever come to the point where someone is taped to anything, ever. If you’re not a police officer, you have no right to restrain anyone, ever.”

According to reports, the teacher used tape to wrap Christian’s chest and legs after he continued to leave his seat. School officials terminated the teacher after sending her on an administrative leave. Terik was grateful for their quick response to the incident.

“I don’t think this should happen to anyone’s child, ever,” Terik told reporters.
