Landscaper, Bobby Vaughn, is currently in the hospital recovering. He was diagnosed early this month with the flesh-eating bacteria.
Vaughn’s first symptoms were backaches and vomiting. He went to the hospital when he started to experience swelling in his groin area. Doctors at the hospital performed surgery on him.
He described the quick growth of the swelling as “the size of a little peanut to a grapefruit fast.”
He had five surgeries in total.
Vaughn is uncertain how he contracted the bacteria. He believes it may had been from a cut he received when he was working outside.
