Tourists visiting a sports resort agreed to go inside an inflatable ball ride, called a zorb. Once in the ball tourists are rolled down a hill.
In an unfortunate turn of events, the zorb went off course as soon as it started rolling down.
People below seemed to understand that there was something wrong as the video shows some of them tried running after the zorb. However, the guys at the top of the hill didn’t seem too concerned about the balloon.
The zorb continued rolling down the hill where it changed course again to roll further towards a cliff in the Caucasus.
The incident happened at a mountain resort in Dombai on January 3. The resort was located in Russia’s North Caucasus mountain rain.
D. Burakkov, 27, died after breaking his neck in the fall, according to the country’s Investigative Committee.
Vladimir Shcherbov, 33, suffered a concussion and multiple lacerations to the head and body.
The resort could face criminal negligence causing death which can bring a maximum penalty of ten years in prison.
“Zorbing” is popular for many sports enthusiasts which originated from New Zealand.
