World’s Hairiest Girl

Supatra Sasuphan is named the World’s Hairiest girl.

The 11-year-old girl from Thailand has Ambras Syndrome. A condition which makes her body grow an abnormal amount of body hair. There are only 50 documented cases since the Middle Ages.

After questioning from Guinness World record executives, Supatra received the title of World’s Hairiest girl. She used to get teased for her looks, but since the world has taken notice of her she has become the most popular girl in school.

Supatra said: “There were a few people who used to tease me and call me monkey face but they don’t do it any more.

Her family has attempted to remove the hair with lasers before, but it just kept growing back.

“I’m very used to this condition. I can’t feel the hair as it has always been like this. I don’t feel anything.

“It does sometimes make it difficult to see when it gets long. I hope I will be cured one day.”

She also suffered health problems when she was born. Her nostrils were only one millimeter wide which caused breathing problems. A few months after her birth, she had surgery to expand her nostrils.

She also reveals that she wants to be a doctor.
