Mentos mints posted a video campaign on YouTube urging people to make babies.
The video was made for Singaporeans.
Singapore’s National Day is on August 9th and the man on the video tells people to “make a little human that looks like you and me” to help Singapore’s birthrate spike. He says it is their civil duty to do so.
The country is concerned with its population decline in years. Fertility rates are down and the population is aging.
According to a government report, Singapore’s key population challenge is their low fertility and aging population.
The country also runs a dating service which they called the Social Development Network.
Parents in Singapore are reportedly offered up to $18,000 for having children.
It is uncertain if the government itself is involved with the Mentos campaign.
